As a young attorney in Chicago, Ge Wang searched for a suit that reflected the standards he held for his profession. Despite the finest labels and the promise of custom clothing, something was always missing. The fit was never truly personal. The craftsmanship never quite complete. What began as a pursuit of a better garment became a pursuit of a better way.
That pursuit became ESQ.

Guided by an unwavering belief that bespoke should be as individual as the person wearing it, Wang immersed himself in the world's great tailoring traditions, traveling through the renowned mills and workshops of Italy and England to understand the craft at its source. The goal was never to imitate, but to create a distinctly American expression of bespoke—one rooted in precision, restraint, and enduring elegance.
